The Bukidnon Airport Development Project continues under Phase 3 (47 percent completion) which includes the 390-meter runway extension and construction of the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB). According to officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) during the recent Senate Committee Inquiry on Status of Airport Projects, the airport located in Maray-maray, Don Carlos town can already handle small turbo-prop aircrafts next year (2025) and A320 jet planes by the third quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, the PTB is still 26% completed as of May 2024.
Phases 1 and 2 are already 100% completed with construction work now under Phase 3. Meanwhile, Phase 4 development has just started last February 2024.

Here are screenshots of CAAP’s presentation on the latest update of Bukidnon Airport.

The PTB has an area of 3,600 sqm capable of accommodating 425 passengers at the same time. It is targeted to be completed in January 2025.

Here’s the perspective and Floor Plan of the PTB.

The runway extension crosses the existing Maraymaray Creek.

Aside from the creek, there are several rubber trees affected with 15-18 meter embankment works to be conducted.

The creek will be converted into a concrete box culvert.

Meanwhile, Phase 4 covers the completion of the airport until July 2026.

Check out the airport facilities which will be completed by 1st quarter of 2025. These include the PTB, Control Tower Building, Cargo Bldg, Powerhouse, Water Tank and Pumphouse, Temporary Access Road and Parking Area.

Here’s another perspective of the PTB.

The control tower is equivalent to a 9-storey building.

The rest of the airport facilities will be completed by mid-2026.

Here is the coverage of Phase 4 development with a budget of P320 Million.

By the way, there is a revision of the Airport Access Road. Instead of the current straight alignment, the road will re-aligned to comply with road safety standards.

Keep posted.
