Carlo Paalam started his final push for a return to the Olympics with a unanimous decision victory over Alexie Lagkazasvili of Greece in the men’s 57kg at the 2nd World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand Friday evening, May 24. Paalam, who won a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, needs to finish at least in third place in this boxing final Olympic qualifying event to book his Olympiad return.
Paalam failed to advance in the previous qualifying tournament in Italy last March 2024 after sustaining an injury.
