Starlite Ferries will officially start serving the Cebu-Tagbilaran-Larena-Oroquieta and vice versa route this Sunday, April 28 with a launching ceremony to be held at San Vicente Bajo Port in Oroquieta City on Monday, April 29 at around 2:00pm. The official announcement came as the shipping company is set to deploy MV Starlite Archer to serve the route but will eventually be replaced by the much larger MV Starlite Pioneer soon.
The passenger vessel will enhance connectivity between Oroquieta, Siquijor, Bohol and Cebu. By the way, San Vicente Bajo Port is located 4 kilometers south of the City Proper of Oroquieta.
It can be recalled that the maiden voyage was already set on the same date but was supposedly to be postponed due to the drydocking delays of MV Starlite Pioneer. However, Starlite Ferries eventually decided to proceed with the schedule but with a replacement vessel – MV Starlite Archer. The former will eventually replace the latter vessel once it completes drydocking.
