The ongoing earthworks at the 12.3-hectare Paseo del Rio Complex in Cagayan de Oro City have breathed new life into the once promising mixed-use complex situated just south of the city proper. With the flood protection infrastructure in place, investors are showing heightened interest in establishing a mixed-use development within the vicinity, potentially incorporating both residential and commercial elements. As shown, the site preparation works have actually covered the entire area of Paseo del Rio and not just the lot fronting the Academy of International Education (AIE). Notice the diagonal boundary on the left towards the river dike.

Here’s another angle looking south.

The site is really a potential growth area.

Meantime, let us go back some 15 years back on the proposal showing some of the initial designs of the development which included residential towers, a convention center and a hotel.

Some renderings of the hotel component which was named Riviera.

Here’s the planned Paseo Mall and ZCX Exhibit Center which is now the Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School.

Here were some photos before.

We still have no detailed info as to the new plan but rumors are circulating of one huge investor that could change the city’s skyline. Keep posted.
