Cagayan de Oro’s Ruelle Canino has just won the 2023/2024 Philippine National Women’s Chess Championship held at Malolos City Hall in Bulacan. The 15-year-old Canino racked up 8 wins and a draw to finish on top after 11 rounds with 8.5 points. With her win, she earned a slot in the 2024 Asian Indoor Games and 2024 World Chess Olympiad.
