RANDOM SHOTS: MV Francisca 5 has biggest passenger capacity plying Balingoan-Camiguin route

St. Benedict Ocean Shipping Lines, Inc. (SBOSLI)’s newest vessel, MV Francisca No. 5, made its maiden voyage from the Port of Balingoan to the Port of Benoni last Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 05:04 a.m. carrying 72 passengers and 28 rolling cargoes. With a maximum capacity of 540 passengers and 30 rolling cargoes, this 3rd vessel of SBOSLI has the biggest passenger capacity of all vessels plying Balingoan-Camiguin route as of date.

As per clarification from Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), the Special Permit granted to MV Francisca No. 5 by MARINA-10 only allows the vessel to ply the Balingoan-Benoni route until April 7, 2024 in time for the Holy Week when influx of travelers is expected to visit and stay in Camiguin for the annual Panaad. Meanwhile, its sister vessel MV Francisco No. 2, will ply the Balingoan-Guinsiliban route during the period.
