A new ship will soon ply the Balingoan-Camiguin route. MV Francisca 5 (formerly MV Mac Bryan) of St. Benedict Ocean Shipping Lines, Inc. is currently docked at Balingoan Port in Misamis Oriental after its arrival on Thursday, February 29. This vessel can accommodate up to 500 passengers and can transport 30 sedan cars. The shipping line management is diligently working on finalizing its MARINA documentation. They aim to start operations just in time for the Holy Week in late March when travel demands are high.
With this addition, the Port of Balingoan now has at least 11 vessels plying the Balingoan-Camiguin routes. Transportation to/from Camiguin will now be easier and faster and long queueing during peak seasons may soon be a thing in the past.
