A rarely seen frog specie has been found in the mountains of Eureka in Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental. The Mindanao Spindy Tree Frog (Nyctixalus spinosus, Taylor, 1920) is an uncommon species of frog in the family Rhacophoridae. It is endemic to the Philippines and occurs on Mindanao, Leyte, Bohol, and Basilan, possibly wider natural habitats including montane and lowland rainforests. Photos taken by Melbert Baul.
