Iligan’s high-flying Andy Gemao invited to Basketball Without Borders Global Camp in NBA All-Star 2024

Former Batang Gilas Apl Mcandrei “Andy” Gemao, the pride of Iligan City and considered among the top high school prospects in the country, has been invited to participate in the 8th Basketball Without Borders Global Camp, which is part of the NBA All-Star 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana set February 16-18 at the Mojo Up Sports Complex. The 6-foot high-flying guard is the lone Filipino player invited to the camp which will feature 40 young prospects from across the globe.

Among the NBA players who are former BWB campers included Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (BWB Global 2016), Portland Trail Blazers’ Deandre Ayton (BWB Global 2016), Toronto Raptors’ RJ Barrett (BWB Global 2017), LA Lakers’ Rui Hachimura (BWB Global 2016), Utah Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen (BWB Global 2015), Indiana Pacers’ Bennedict Mathurin (BWB Global 2020) and Denver Nuggets’s Jamal Murray (BWB Global 2015).

Gemao is back in the country following a stint with the Veritas Academy Titans in the US. He is set to play for Fil-Nation Select when they compete in the 2024 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) tournament set next month. He previously played for Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Corpus Christi Grade School in Cagayan de Oro in his younger years
