Apl Mcandrei “Andy” Gemao, the high-flying 6-foot guard from Iligan City out of Colegio de San Juan de Letran will be flying to the United States to attend a tryout at the Veritas Academy National Prep, a Nike Elite high school located in Malibu, California where basketball prospects are often recruited by top US NCAA Division I college teams. Gemao previously played for Corpus Christi Grade School in Cagayan de Oro in his younger years. Good luck!
The 17-year old Gemao recently led Letran’s juniors basketball team to the NCAA Season 98 title ending the school’s 22-year drought. He also participated in the three-day NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Asia camp at New York University in Abu Dhabi together with 80 young basketball prospects across Asia and the Middle East where he made an impression and hailed as one of the camp’s All-Star players.
