Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya is recommending to invite investors from the private sector to put up multilevel parking buildings. This is in support to Councilor Romeo Calizo’s Special Report on the lack of parking spaces in the city’s downtown area particularly in Divisoria which contribute to the city’s worsening traffic situation. Nacaya stated the vertical parking project on city-owned properties can be made via Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
In his report, Coucilor Calizo said even on Sundays when many businesses are closed, you will still have difficulty in looking for parking space because as observed, vehicles are parked on both sides of the road.
