Cadet/Colonel Alsadjaik Y. Sabdul 1CL, the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Commander of Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), was recently named as the Armed Forces of the Philippines ROTC Male Cadet of the Year 2023. A BS Philosophy student, C/Col Sabdul personally received his award from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., National Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., and AFP Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. during the 88th AFP Founding Anniversary last December 21, 2023 at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City. Congratulations!
Meanwhile, C/Col Sabdul (1CL) visited the Headquarters of the Reserve Command (RESCOM), Philippine Army at Camp Riego De Dios in Tanza, Cavite the following day, December 22, 2023. Col Samuel B. Manzano GSC (Inf) PA, the Deputy Commander, representing Major General Manuel Jr., the Commander of RESCOM proudly received the recipient of the AFP’s Best Male ROTC Cadet of the Year Award.
Sabdul is a 19-year-old junior student at MSU–IIT pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy (Applied Ethics). As the second child of the late Technical Sergeant Sadata Basri Sabdul, who dedicated 21 years of service to the Philippine Army, and Ms. Nelva Megallon Ytang-Sabdul, Cadet Sabdul carries a legacy of commitment and service.
