Marlon Tapales, the pride of Tubod, Lanao del Norte will try to become the first Filipino undisputed boxing champion when he fights Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue in the super bantamweight unification bout at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan tomorrow, December 26. Tapales who holds the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation belts is a heavy underdog against the unbeaten Inoue, who holds the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization crowns.
Tapales (37-3, 19 KOs) weighed 121.2 lbs while Inoue (25-0, 22 KOs) 121.6 lbs during the official weigh in today.
