Government troops under the Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry Division sustained military offensives against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in the hinterlands of Barangays Can-ayan, Kibalabag, Kulaman, and Mapulo, all in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, early dawn of Christmas Day, December 25, 2023 resulting to nine (9) rebels dead and 8 high-powered firearms seized.
Reports revealed that government forces launched air strikes in the subject areas as part of the Focused Military Operation with Battlefield Air Interdiction after receiving reports from local residents of planned atrocities by the CPP-New People’s Army (NPA) in commemoration of their 55th Founding Anniversary on December 26.
