Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy has stated that barangay officials should take the initiative in clearing their rivers and creeks of any settlers to avoid any deaths that may occur in case of flooding. This after swearing in officers of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) at his office today, December 18. Mayor Klarex made this statement amid city preparations for Tropical Storm Kabayan.
Some barangays in the city that are either flood prone or have creeks and rivers have neglected to prohibit any settlement in areas that are classified as danger zones, he added.
