PROJECT WATCH: Bukidnon Airport as of November 2023; 1.2-km 4-lane Airport Access Road to start next year

While concreting of the airport apron and taxiway of the Bukidnon Airport Development Project are ongoing, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has also awarded the construction of the Airport Perimeter Fence and Airport Road to start Phase V development. Meanwhile, the 1.2-kilometer 4-lane Airport Access Road is scheduled for implementation in 2024 together with completion of landside facilities. Shown below is the latest Notice of Award for the perimeter fence and road issued just this month.

Here’s the scope of the perimeter fence around the airport property.

The latest contract also covers the 6-meter wide airport perimeter road with a total length of 7.472 kilometers.

As shown below, next year’s proposed budget of P550 Million will cover the completion of runway strip and landside facilities, and construction of 1.2-kilometer 4-lane access road including site acquisition. For 2025, the proposed budget will be P200 Million to cover completion/extension of runway and installation of lighting and air navigational facilities.
