Despite the general disappointment felt by almost all Filipinos regarding the outcome of the recent 72nd Miss Universe held in San Salvador, El Salvador, residents of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental can take pride in the achievement of Boogie Musni Rivera. Rivera, a renowned fashion designer originally from the region and currently based in New York, was the creative force behind the gowns worn by Miss Universe Mauritius, Tatiana Beauharnais. Despite not advancing in the competition, Tatiana, a police woman in Mauritius, captivated her countrymen during the pageant night. She looked absolutely stunning in Rivera’s mesmerizing green and gold gown creation, showcasing the talent and creativity of Kagay-anon designer on the international stage.
