Officials of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recently visited the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PHIVIDEC-IA) last November 9, 2023 and discussed the expansion plans of the Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) that would cater to bigger international vessels as well as increase the number of ship calls. PHIVIDEC-IA Administrator/CEO Atty. Joseph J. Bernedo welcomed the guests led by JICA Headquarters Southeast Asia Division Senior Deputy Director Mr. Yosuke Nishii.
The JICA delegates were toured around the MCT and likewise paid a courtesy visit to the Bureau of Customs – MCT Subport, Acting Port Collector Atty. Tomas D. Tagra, Jr. Also with the JICA delegation were JICA Headquarters Southeast Asia Division Assistant Director Ms. Risa Aramaki, Southeast Asia Division Assistant Director Ms. Chichiro Kobayashi and Ms Nami Kawai of JICA Philippines Office.
