The DOST-PAGASA Planetarium Project in Molugan, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, the first planetarium in Mindanao will finally be operational next year. This was revealed following the recent site visit of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC-X), the monitoring arm of the Regional Development Council (RDC-X), of which the project is among high-impact projects in the province of Misamis Oriental. The P35 million planetarium has a dome ceiling as its main feature which will also serve as a projection screen.
The facility is expected to be among the top of the list for educational tours among students of all levels as well as a tourist attraction.
It can be recalled that during the budget hearing last September 2023, Misamis Oriental 2nd District Congressman Yevgeny Vincente Emano sought the commitment of DOST officials to complete the project in December this year.
