Cagayan de Oro City Police have arrested the suspect in the murder last year of Federico “Ding” Gempesaw, a radio commentator and blocktimer. The tracker team led by Police Major Mario Mantala and armed with an arrest warrant issued by RTC 10, Branch 39 Judge Marites Felomina B Tana Bernales arrested the suspect at around 3:30pm of October 31, 2023 along V. Castro Street in Carmen.
In a press release, City Police Director PCol Salvador N Radam identified the arrested suspect as P**** Q*****a **, 35 years old and a resident of Zone 5, Phase 1, Macanhan, Barangay Carmen. Accordingly, the suspect was listed as Top 1 Most Wanted Person City Level. Meanwhile, his cohort is still being pursued.
It can be recalled that Gempesaw died on the spot after he was shot at the back of his head and right eyebrow by riding in tandem suspects near his home in Macanhan, Carmen on June 29, 2022.
