Probationary Second Lieutenant Roxelle Marie Villapaña, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management from Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro just became the first female Brigade Commander of the Officer Candidate Corps (OCC) of the Philippine Army.
Villapaña had worked as a financial staff for four years before she decided to pursue her childhood dream to become a soldier. After the thorough application and selection process, she became part of the OCC “TALAHIRAYA” Class 59-2023.
Leading a brigade-sized corps was never easy but she believes that she has a lot to prove knowing that she is the first female brigade commander in the history of the Officer Candidate School.
