The JICA-funded Feasibility Study for the 65.6-kilometer Central Mindanao High Standard Highway (Cagayan de Oro – Malaybalay Section) is still ongoing with the Preliminary Design expected to be completed by September 2023. This was gathered during the 14th Philippines-Japan High-Level Joint Committee Meeting on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation last August 28, 2023 held at Meiji Kinenkan Chitose Hall in Tokyo, Japan. This was the first High-Level Meeting hosted by Japan since the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.

Based on latest pre-FS information, the proposed Central Mindanao High Standard Highway will be built parallel to Sayre Highway with 5 interchanges and 2 long span bridges as major components as shown below.

Shown below are the locations of 5 interchanges as initially proposed during the pre-FS. Note the road alignment has been changed. This will further change when the FS will be completed.

Keep posted.
