A resident of Zone 2, Barangay Sto. Niño in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon rescued a Philippine Hawk-Eagle early morning of August 23, 2023. Gino Balugo was gathering fodder when he saw the bird fall to the ground after being attacked by crows. He then turned it over to Christiano Lucero, a staff of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) who also lives in the area who quickly informed the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO). The bird was released back into the wild after it was ascertained it was in good condition.

According to the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich, MENRO staff Ronald Baslan responded to the incident together with Forester Edgar Gayona, Head of the Wildlife section of DENR-CENRO Manolo Fortich who identified it as a Philippine Hawk Eagle.
