The SM CDO Malls expressed its warm support to DepEd’s annual Brigada Eskwela as volunteer employees joined hands in assisting in the preparation of Pedro “Oloy” N. Roa High School in Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City to welcome its students for a new school year.
Just like the previous years, volunteers from each mall shared their free time and effort to ensure the preparedness of their partner schools for the opening of classes including repainting of chairs and repair of broken classroom windows. The initiative aimed to inspire and motivate young minds by providing an engaging educational space. These initiatives are testament to SM’s dedication to education and its firm belief in the power of volunteerism.
By engaging employees in community service, SM CDO Malls strive to nurture a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility among its team members. The school’s head gave the certificate of recognition to SM City CDO Uptown and SM CDO Downtown for the help extended for the Brigada Eskwela 2023.
Joining the Brigada Eskwela is part of SM’s employee volunteerism project spearheaded by the HR Department under the SM Cares program, which aims to extend assistance to various sectors in the community they serve.
