Army troops nab CPP-NPA terrorist carrying anti-personnel mines in MisOr

Troops belonging to the 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion captured a suspected member of the CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) group during a pursuit operation in Brgy Lawaan, Gingoog City in the morning of July 30, Saturday. The suspect was identified as Rubin Palyares Bago alias Troy, a resident of the Municipality of Carmen in Agusan del Norte and a member of the Regional Operations Command of the Northern Central Mindanao Committee (NCMRC). He was carrying a backpack containing Anti-Personnel Mines (APM).

The operation came after the 58IB validated an information from a concerned citizen about the presence of an unknown individual in Sitio Minlanag, Brgy Lawaan, Gingoog City. The army troops who recently clashed with the group of Dionesio Micabalo alias Muling, resulting to his death and capture of high powered firearms, personal belongings and other war materials were conducting pursuit operation against the fleeing rebels.

The captured CNT has now been turned over to the Philippine National Police of Gingoog City in the evening, same day, for proper legal proceedings.
