Thousands of motorists and commuters in Cagayan de Oro’s eastern barangays particularly at Puerto and Bugo were stranded after a downpour Friday night, July 21, 2023 caused waterways to overflow and spill over the National Highway resulting to heavy traffic. This photo below shows floodwaters just below the knee in Puerto near Jollibee. Traffic is stalled as smaller vehicles couldn’t move forward due to the flooded highway.
Only buses, large trucks and vehicles with high clearances were able to move through the flooded highway.
Several houses in the area were flooded.
