A new alternate route to Uptown Cagayan de Oro will soon be realized. This after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-10) started bidding out Package 1 of the Macasandig-Macanhan-Manresa Bridge and Access Road Project. DPWH also bid out Package 1 of the Kalambaguhan-Vamenta Bridge Project. Both projects were presented during the pre-bid conference held today, June 6, at the DPWH Regional Office. Browse over some details below.

MACASANDIG-MACANHAN-MANRESA BRIDGE AND ACCESS ROAD (PACKAGE 1) – Approved Budget Contract (ABC) of Php 193 Million to be completed in 330 calendar days. Package 1 does not include the bridge component. As proposed, this road will connect to Manresa in Upper Carmen.

As shown below, the project starts along the South Road of Paseo del Rio near Bell Church and follows Biasong Tinib Road before turning right towards riverside. The alignment from Macanhan towards Manresa is still not available.

Here’s our own illustration of the alignment.

KALAMBAGUHAN-VAMENTA BRIDGE AND ACCESS ROAD (PACKAGE 1) – Approved Budget Contract of Php 96,500,000; the project was initially divided into three components but after some discussion, the bridge component (CW3) was combined with CW2. This project has a duration of 300 calendar days.

Package 1 only covers the bridge approach along Kalabaguhan Street.

Here’s our own illustration of the alignment.

As shown, the approach will be elevated perhaps over the river boulevard.
