The old Operation Kahusay ug Kalinaw (OKK) will be revived. This was announced by Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy during this morning’s formal groundbreaking ceremony at Magsaysay Park signalling the start of Phase 1 of the Divisoria Redevelopment under Project Lunhaw. The new OKK center or the resilience center will also house offices of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA). It will be completed in June this year.

The project will be the initial development under Project Lunhaw in which the city and UN Habitat plans to transform the Divisoria area into a ‘walkable and bikable’ heritage park, while retaining its historical value.
