PROJECT WATCH: Upper Carmen near Eco-Park among sites considered for new City Hall Complex

Discussions on the proposed transfer of the Cagayan de Oro City Hall are now underway with the area near the Eco-Park as among the sites considered for its new location. Among the major factors being discussed for the proposal is accessiblity. Meanwhile, in relation to this, City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy has disclosed that Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri has committed an initial P500 million for the new city hall if they can finalize the new site.

The proposed new City Hall Complex is being planned as a one-stop shop with all departments located within the same area. It is also expected to solve the parking woes being currently experienced by both city hall employees and guests. Several areas in Upper Carmen from properties around the Eco-Park towards SM Bypass Road is being looked into because of their proximity and established road network.
