The Kim Ling Lion Dance Group performed a lion dance early today at City Hall and at Divisoria as part of the week-long Chinese New Year Festival in Cagayan de Oro City. The group will be performing the lion dance every morning (8:00 am-10:00 am) until January 19 along Osmeña Street from Florentino St. to Limketkai Drive-Cogon area) and everynight (6:30 pm-8:00 pm) at City Hall and Gaston Park until January 21.

Lion dance is a traditional Chinese dance in which performers imitate the movements of a lion to ward off evil spirits and make room for good luck and fortune. Check out photos of the lion dance at City Hall and at Divisoria below.
