
Naming a discovery to the person who helped accomplish the feat is a common practice in the scientific world. And just recently, a new species of weevil beetle of the genus Metapocyrtus Heller 1912, Metapocyrtus (Dolichocephalocyrtus) baulorum sp. nov. which was discovered in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao, Philippines is named after the family of local conservationist Melbert Baul.

Meanwhile, another newly discovered weevil beetle species Metapocyrtus (Dolichocephalocyrtus) malindangensis sp. nov. is also named after Mt. Malindang in Misamis Occidental where it was found.
