Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10), in coordination with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region 10, seized approximately ₱45 million worth of heavy equipment, arrested six individuals, and rescued a minor during an anti-illegal mining operation in Sitio Pin-as, Barangay Tuburan, Cagayan de Oro City, at around 4:00 AM on November 6, 2026. Authorities confiscated 12 excavators, three dump trucks, and other equipment. Initial investigation indicated that the suspected illegal mining activity was allegedly disguised as a quarrying operation and reportedly facilitated and financed by a Chinese national. The operation was conducted to enforce the Philippine Mining Act and the existing moratorium on mining activities in identified areas of Opol, Misamis Oriental, and along the Iponan River.
