The proposed ₱16.8-million Pedestrian Overpass Project along Don Apolinar Velez Street in Cagayan de Oro is among the infrastructure projects included in the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) proposed National Expenditure Program (NEP). Listed under the Off-Carriageway Improvement category of the agency’s Network Development Program, the project will be located at K1438 + 292, which is beside the Insular Life Building and directly across Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS). The proposed overpass is expected to address pedestrian safety concerns along this busy stretch of road, which is crossed daily by thousands of students and other pedestrians.
