Rising fuel costs and weight restrictions on the Panguil Bay Bridge are prompting some logistics operators to return to the traditional Mukas Port–Ozamiz Port route. While activity remains lower than before the bridge opened, locals say Mukas Port in Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte has seen increased cargo movement in recent months as fuel prices climbed, with ferry services providing an alternative for heavy trucks affected by Panguil Bay Bridge weight limit of 30 tons. The development also highlights the port’s continued role in connecting Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.
