A lightning strike suddenly hit near a pickleball court in Barangay Hinaplanan, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, on the evening of September 7, 2026, startling players who were in the middle of a game. In a viral post, netizen John Lin said he had just set up his cellphone camera to record their game when the lightning struck close to the court. The lights immediately went out, forcing players to stop the game. Fortunately, no one was injured, and everyone at the court was sent home safely.
