CDO’s Gian James Maagad wins Origami Cup PH, earns spot in 2027 World Championship

Cagayan de Oro’s Gian James Maagad has won the Origami Cup Philippines 2026, earning the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the 2027 World Origami Cup Championship in Tokyo. Maagad topped a nationwide field of baristas and home brewers in the pour-over coffee brewing competition, which highlights the skill and artistry of brewing coffee using the Origami Dripper. The competition was the centerpiece of the Origami Coffee + Matcha Fest 2026, held September 5–6 at Greenfield District Central Park in Mandaluyong City. Congratulations!
