The Eastern Interior Bypass Road Project in Cagayan de Oro is set to receive nearly ₱1 billion under the proposed 2027 National Expenditure Program (NEP) for infrastructure development. This was announced by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez during his recent site inspection. The project covers road sections in Barangays Gusa, Cugman, Tablon, and Agusan, and connects to Sayre Highway in Barangay Puerto. Once completed, the bypass will provide an alternative route to the Butuan-Cagayan-Iligan Road (BCIR), helping ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the eastern side of the city.
