The City Government of Cagayan de Oro is set to construct a 10-meter-wide road connecting Masterson Avenue to the Manresa Access Road, which is currently being developed by Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI). The new road will provide an additional access route between Uptown Cagayan de Oro and the Balulang area, complementing the Manresa Access Road. City Engineer Joel Momongan disclosed the plan during a radio interview on July 20, 2026. According to Momongan, the new road will begin across the former Peugeot showroom, run along the boundary of Camella Homes, and connect to the Manresa Access Road near the property boundary of CLI’s Manresa Town development. Construction is expected to begin soon, once the city completes the payment of just compensation to the affected property owner.

Here’s our own conceptual alignment of the planned road.

This is the junction along Masterson Avenue where the new road will be constructed. As shown, the proposed alignment is already open and free of existing structures.

In fact, a two-lane concrete road already exists along this route.

This is the same road looking towards Masterson.

This is where the existing concrete road currently ends. Around 400-500 meters of additional road will be concreted before it connects to the Manresa Access Road. Retaining walls will also be constructed to facilitate the connection due to the steep terrain in the area.
