Cagayan de Oro native Resty Jane Olaguir is part of the history-making Alas Pilipinas girls’ national team competing in the FIVB Volleyball Girls U17 World Championship in San Felipe, Chile. The 16-year-old, 5-foot-4 student of Gracel Christian College Foundation serves as the team’s setter, following an impressive playmaking performance at the AVC Asian Women’s U16 Championship in Amman, Jordan, last year. Alas Pilipinas is making its historic debut at the World Championship, with victories over Mexico and Tunisia. The team needs just one win in its remaining two group-stage matches to advance to the Round of 16.
