Northern Mindanao is strengthening its status as a world-class sports destination. The Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) in Tubod, Lanao del Norte has received the World Athletics Class 2 Athletics Facility Certificate issued on July 1, 2026, confirming that its track and field facilities meet international standards for athletics competitions. Last year, its football pitch also earned FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) approval, making the venue eligible to host international football matches.
