A Green Sea Turtle rescued after being found stranded and injured along the shoreline of Barangay Tubigan, Initao, Misamis Oriental on July 4 is now under the care of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region X. The turtle, which sustained injuries to its neck and head, was rescued through the joint efforts of DENR Region X, the LGU of Initao, and the Barangay LGU of Tubigan after concerned residents reported the incident. It is currently receiving veterinary treatment and rehabilitation at the DENR Regional Wildlife Rescue Center in Puntod, Cagayan de Oro City before its eventual release back into the wild.
