History was made on July 8, 2026, as the Nuestra Señora de la Immaculada Concepción y del Triunfo de la Cruz de Migpangi, also known as the Miraculous Birhen sa Cotta or Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and of the Triumph of the Cross of Panguil Bay, was officially bestowed an Episcopal Coronation in Ozamiz City—a formal crowning authorized by the local ecclesiastical authority recognizing the image’s religious significance and the longstanding devotion of the faithful.
The historic celebration was presided over by Archbishop Charles John Brown, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, and attended by Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, priests, religious men and women, and thousands of devotees from across the country in a solemn tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
