Three individuals were arrested in an anti-illegal mining operation on July 4, 2026, in P-5, Poblacion, Manticao, Misamis Oriental, where authorities seized an orange HOWO dump truck carrying around 700 sacks of suspected unprocessed mineral ores worth an estimated ₱1.183 million. Acting on intelligence, the operation was carried out by the Manticao Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Task Force Kalikasan. The confiscated dump truck, valued at approximately ₱1.8 million, and the mineral ores will be turned over to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 10 for proper processing, while the three suspects remain in police custody.
