Cagayan de Oro artist Nicolas Aca has paid tribute to the late Rene Baterbonia with an engraved wooden portrait, which he personally handed to the bereaved family during the wake in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur. Known for his intricate wooden engravings, Aca has also produced portraits of past Cagayan de Oro mayors, which are displayed at the City Museum.
