The Philippine Coast Guard, through Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao and its partner units, seized 336 boxes of suspected smuggled Canon and Green Hills cigarettes and two Toyota Innova vehicles during an operation in Mambayaan, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental on June 12, 2026. The confiscated cigarettes, valued at approximately ₱13.4 million, were turned over to the Bureau of Customs Region X on June 15. The operation forms part of the PCG’s intensified efforts to combat smuggling and suppress illicit trade under its iCARE program.
