The new masterplan for Paseo del Rio in Cagayan de Oro City has been unveiled, offering a glimpse of a next-generation, pedestrian-oriented township designed to drive sustainable urban transformation in the city and the broader Mindanao region. Developed by WTA Architecture and Design Studio, the globally inspired mixed-use development integrates residential, commercial, office, and civic spaces through walkable streets, green infrastructure, and smart urban systems. The masterplan aims to create an inclusive, resilient, and economically vibrant community where people can seamlessly live, work, and connect in a sustainable environment.
As shown in the rendering, the existing Jose Ma. R. Golez Institute of Medical Sciences Building of Liceo de Cagayan University can be seen on the left side of the site. The proposed master plan envisions the area evolving into a vibrant mixed-use district featuring high-rise developments, commercial establishments, restaurants, and fast-food outlets, creating a dynamic urban environment that complements the university and surrounding communities.
