A young Philippine Eagle successfully fledged from the Cinchona Forest Reserve within the Mt. Kitanglad Range National Park in Lantapan, Bukidnon, marking another milestone in wildlife conservation efforts in Northern Mindanao. The juvenile eagle, raised by a resident pair of Philippine Eagles, officially left its nest in March 2026 and was later observed by DENR monitoring teams perched near the nesting area. The successful fledging highlights the importance of protecting forest habitats that serve as sanctuaries for the critically endangered national bird. DENR Region X Regional Executive Director Henry A. Adornado said the achievement brings renewed hope for biodiversity conservation and strengthens efforts to protect the remaining habitats of the Philippine Eagle.
