The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has secured ₱145.56 billion for the 64.7-kilometer Central Mindanao High Standard Highway Project, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to accelerate infrastructure development. Scheduled for implementation from 2026 to 2034 under a guaranteed financing scheme, the project is expected to slash travel time between Cagayan de Oro and Malaybalay, enhance regional connectivity, reduce transport costs, and stimulate trade, investment, and key sectors such as agriculture, logistics, and tourism. Funding will come from loan proceeds from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), supplemented by the Philippine government’s counterpart contribution.
