A 12-year-old pet monkey was successfully rescued in Purok 4, Barangay Tablon, through the joint efforts of DENR representative Michael Panerio, Animal Welfare Coordinator Jaymar L. Pasco, and local barangay tanods after the animal reportedly bit a child on the afternoon of January 22, 2026. The rescue was carried out to protect residents, particularly children, and ensure public safety. Following the incident, the Barangay Tablon Council, led by PB Romeo R. Bacarro, reminded the public that keeping wild animals such as monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, and other wildlife is both dangerous and illegal, urging residents to immediately report similar cases to authorities to prevent accidents and help maintain peace and safety in the community.
