Cagayan de Oro’s young chess sensation Ruelle “Taweng” Canino has officially earned the Woman International Master (WIM) title this year, as confirmed by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) or International Chess Federation. She secured the WIM title after winning the silver medal in the Women’s Division of the 6th ASEAN+ Individual Chess Championships held last month at the Misamis Occidental Resort and Aquamarine Park in Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental. She is now setting her sights on the Woman Grandmaster (WGM) title. Congratulations!
